This session is designed to provide students with tools and resources to assist them in evaluating, comparing, and selecting a college/university.  The presenters will share resources and information on 13 important factors involved in making decisions in both areas. By the end of the session, students will walk away with next steps to move them closer to selecting a college and a major that are the right fit for their interests, goals, and values.

Financial Aid 101  - Show Me the Money  

The published price of a college or university tells only part of the full story of how much it might cost to attend. This session will describe the landscape of financial aid available and tools that can be used to obtain a preview of what your actual cost to attend could be. Sometimes the most expensive colleges offer the best financial aid. Additionally, other resources will be shared regarding obtaining other financial resources to pay for your education.

If you would like to find out how to make the most of your Freshman year as an HBCU student, join us. We will share resources, clubs, service groups, and other activities that help to balance your transition to college. It is important to feel a part of your new college community; these resources and suggestions will help.

It will emphasize navigating successfully through different instructional platforms (i.e. distance learning, hybrid environment, and classroom settings).

NCAA and the Collegiate Athlete…Be Prepared and Know 

This presentation is designed to educate prospective student-athletes, their families, and high school administrators about the initial-eligibility process for National Collegiate Athlete Association (NCAA) Divisions I and II schools. Some topics discussed during this webinar will be: 

  • Parent/family involvement; 
  • Initial eligibility/grade level activities;
  • Social media and student deportment;
  • Core courses and GPA;
  • NCAA Divisions;
  • Time management;
  • Sports-related careers,
  • Recruiting Terms and Calendars, etc.
